During his time as a founder in Silicon Valley for a blockchain startup, Clemens Pompeÿ, often wondered if today’s solutions were on track for tomorrow’s problems – even though it was not yet clear whether this problem would even exist in the future. Why not focusing in challenges instead of solutions?
What started as a hobby four years ago, led Clemens and Christian to jointly found prototype.club as a publicly effective event platform for startup collaboration in February 2022.
While working on prototype.club and with the experience as a management consultant and later as an innovation manager in a large corporation, Clemens could always see that the experts in specialist departments had many small ideas for today’s problems.
Everyone is focussing on startups and innovation. But only a few take the time to ask specialist departments in companies what their real day-to-day challenges are that they would like to have solved by startups.
In the same way, procurement departments have always been open to publishing even small-scale offers for new distributors, but this process is very personnel-intensive and therefore not cost-efficient. However, the procurement departments of companies would always put them off with “next year” since the order for the improvement would have been too small.
So there needs to be a highly automated tender platform for small-part procurement that also meets a company’s compliance and procurement guidelines:
